The red color has been inculcated only because of the presence of an iron oxide bed which is near the plane. The thickness of this sandstone ranges from 15mm to 50mm with a tolerance of ±5mm. In the case of the tiles which are sawn from both the sides the thickness is measured and ranges from 18mm to 22mm with a tolerance of ±2mm. The slabs are cut to size in cms and are available up to 200 cm length and 60 cm width.

Dholpur Beige is of white buff colored sandstone and has become very popular amongst the architects. The only eye catcher of this variety is this that the minor purple colored veins are visible when this sandstone is wet. This makes it look spectacular.
